Zakia is an active girl whose favorite activity is reading poems. She is in grade (2) and dreams of becoming a fashion designer when she graduates high school. She has four sisters and two brothers. Her father lives in Ghana working as a cleaner to help support the family.

 

A typical home is a single room constructed with mud bricks with a tin roof. Families get their water from local wells or streams. Challenges such as malaria, typhoid, divided families, and idol worship make life more difficult.
