Akpedje is an active girl whose favorite past time activity is playing group games. To help at home, she assists with running errands and sweeping the house. She has two sisters, and her father is currently in Nigeria looking for any kind of handy work that he can do.

A typical home is a single room constructed with mud bricks with a tin roof. Families get their water from local wells or streams. Challenges such as malaria, typhoid, divided families and idol worship make life more difficult.
